It is possible to see hundreds of seals at low tide by Galge reef south of Fanø.
The good time for a visit is June and July when the females have their pups, but it is always a great experience to watch the spotted seals sunbathe on the sandbanks.
Don’t go on the seal safari if the weather is calm and provides good visibility. Start your walk approx. 1 hour before low tide.
Park by the beach at Sønderho and expect approx. Half an hour’s walk south - through puddles – towards Galge Reef. You can expect to see 200-700 seals on the sandbanks at approx. 100 meters distance.
